MACERATA

The Civic Museums of Macerata, all located in the city centre, include the Carriage Museum, art exhibitions, Natural History Museum and temporary exhibitions. In the central square Piazza della Libertà you can visit the Clock Tower, where you can have a sight from the Sibillini Mountains to the Adriatic sea and the typical hilly countryside of Le Marche. The most relavent event during summer season is with no doubt the Macerata Opera Festival at the outdoor Sferisterio Theatre. Close to Macerata, there is an important manufacturing area for handcrafted shoes, with several showrooms and shops of famous brands like Nero Giardini and Tod’s.

RECANATI

The village of Recanati is well known being the birth place of the famous Italian poet and philosopher Giacomo Leopardi. You can visit the residence of the poet the city centre, Palazzo Leopardi. Recanati is also the birth place of the famous tenor Beniamino Gigli, to whom is entitled the Civic Museum, which contains some of the memorabilia linked to his artistic career.

LORETO

The village of Loreto is an important religious and artistical centre, thanks to its famous and wonderful Basilica church, which, according to the popular tradition, contains the Holy House. Every year, thousands of pilgrims and tourists visit the Basilica.

Thanks to its geographic position, from Loreto it is possible to reach in a few minutes the Conero Riviera and the typical villages of Sirolo and Numana.
